For My Camp Fraser Friends

Like I said in the last post, I am terrible at updating and this post was supposed to be put up about 2 weeks ago. So here it is . . .

So every Friday the Miami DOOR site has a community day. The first few involved reading and discussing books, talking about our placements, and settling house tensions, but those were only the first few. The other aspect of community day that those lacked was a community service project.

That week we were pumped our first service day because it was at a Habitat for Humanity site in South Miami. As we pull up to the site in the early hours of the morning we were greeted this . . .

So what are we told to do? You guessed it . . . move the thing. So we were given these to help with the task . . .

A note for my dear Camp Fraser interns . . .
Moving tumulchuously large mound of mulch or in my most recent case dirt, is a skill that God will most likely require of you at every site you go to.

Kick Off

So anyone who knows me knows that blogging is one of the hardest things for me to do. I have been horrible at journals and daily devotions my entire life, but this needs to change. This entire past month and a half for me has been a lot about realizing I need to be more disciplined. Now I know that that is something many people say, but I am pretty sure that growing in this area is the only way that I will survive my last two years of school and keep myself mentally and physically healthy.

The problem is that a lot of times the idea that updating this blog is work overcomes my desire to do it. This is where I am asking for your help. I need accountability to develop discipline and in this online realm that is you the readers. If you notice that I have not updated in an extraordinarily long amount of time (I am going to quantify that as over a week) then please shoot me a Facebook message or email to remind me.

I hope this space will give you an idea of what is going on in Homestead and my work down here.
Enjoy!
